Description: Bird's-eye view of the Huis ter Nieuburch with the gardens in Rijswijk (Voormalige Huis ter Nieuburch in Rijswijk). As the title suggest, in this palace was signed the Treaty of Rijswijk in 1697. Neglected for a long time, the palace was destroyed in 1789.In the foreground the road from The Hague with the three bridges and the three separate entrances to the palace, in the distance Delft.Titled below: 'Het Huis van Nieuwburg te Ryswyk, alwaar, in 't jaar 1697, de Vrede geslooten is'.Included in Jan Wagenaars' Vaderlandsche Historie, vervattende de Geschiedenissen der nu Vereenigde Nederlanden.. published by Isaak Tirion in Amsterdam in 1757. Etching and engraving on paper, mounted on a thick sheet of paper; total: 190 x 272 mm; vertical fold in the middle visible, on the right edge a bit browned further in fair condition. Muller 2966-a.
