Description: Broadside sheet from the set Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid, 1720-1721.A wagon with Actionists leaves Amsterdam at the Muiderpoort and drives towards Vianen and Culemborg. The carriage is driven by a jester, on the roof a monkey holds a banner with Bombario, the horses are led by a devil. In and around the wagon are actionists or wind traders. Print 35 in the series Het Groote Tafereel der Dwaasheid.Titled above: DE MALLE ACTIONISTEN NAAR VIANEN OF 'T PEPERLAND..Dutch poem in three columns below the representation. Etching on paper, printed on two joined sheets; plate mark: 315 x 393 mm, total: 397 x 490 mm; some creases and traces of folding, foxing affecting especially the margins, some light staining; bottom part of the sheet tucked in; charming impression.
