Illustration to Matthias Ringmann, 'Passionis Christi unum ex quattuor Evangelistis Textum', published in Strasbourg by Johann Knoblouch in 1506.Monogrammed at bottom, VG.[NL] Christus voor Herodes. Middeleeuws blad uit 1506 met houtsnede van Urs Graf (c. 1485-1529). Zeldzaam. Middle Ages. Handcolored woodcut on paper, pasted down on another sheet of paper, so the text in letterpress on verso is not visible. Total: 221 x 159 mm; colored in red, blue, yellow, green and light brown shades. Some repairing on verso, mounted on fine cardboard passepartout, overall in good condition. On verso annotations in pen and brown ink. Hollstein C 18.
