Description: Contemporary parchment binding, good copy, only some minor stains on the parchment. With ex libris of Nordkirchen and the coat of arms. On the spine the text: Theatre de Mr Boursault. Each play with separate titlepage in red and black ink and two frontispieces, pages are numbered in following order. Text in French. Interior in good condition. In the Phaeton comedie an illustration of a scaffold and a man holding a pig (jacht op het Calydonische zwijn door Meleager?). Good copy.Titlepage of Theatre de Mr Boursault with vignet of globe. Content: Lettre d'un theologien, Germanicus, Marie Stuart, La comedie sans titre, Phaėton, comedie, Meleagre, opera, La fest de la Seine. The pages 175-426 are wrongly numbered with p. 177-428 (this is so in all known copies). The 'Lettre d'un Theologien' is attributed to Francesco Caffaro. Edme Boursault lived from 1638-1701Content of Les Oeuvres de Mr Le Baron: Le rendez-vous des Thuillieries, Les enlevemens, L'Homme a bonne fortune en La Coquette, et la fausse prude. Michel Baron (1653-1729) was a French actor and playwriter.
