Description: Paper binding, 14 x 8,5 cm, in -12 format. Original paper printed covers with small damages in the right bottom corner. The first edition of this tragedy, written in French by Madame de Gomez, dates from 1714. Four years later, it was translated into Dutch by Guillaume Toussaint Domis, after which it premiered in January 1719 as 'Habis' or The Destroyed Revenge at the Amsterdam theater. Gomez dedicated the play to Maximilian II Emmanuel, Elector.[NL] Eerste druk van dit in het Frans geschreven treurspel van Madame de Gomez is uit 1714. Vier jaar later werd het door Guillaume Toussaint Domis in het Nederlands vertaald, waarna het in januari 1719 als 'Habis' of de vernietigde wraakgierigheid in de A msterdame schouwburg in premiere ging. Gomez heeft het stuk opgedragen aan Maximiliaan II Emmanuel, keurvorst.
