This new edition, first 4 volumes 1770, thereafter 1771 is seriously corrected and enlarged. Simon Pelloutier was a pastor of the church in Bucholz near Berlin and then in Magdeburg and finally in Berlin. He was a historian and antiquarian and elected to the Royal Prussian Academy of Sciences. He won the prize of the Académie des Inscriptions et Belles Lettres in 1742.A detailed 18th century history on the Celts (Kelten) arriving at the shores of Britain at approximately 1,000BC and living there during the Iron Age, the Roman Age and the post Roman era. Their legacy continues today where examples of the language, culture and traditions continue to exist.From the library of the famous Belgium historian, see ex libris, Adolphe Borgnet (1804-1875). He was a historian and university professor in Belgium, Liège (Luik, België). He obtained a doctorate in law from the State University of Louvain (1826) and worked as an examining magistrate at the Court of First Instance in Namur (1830-1837), while devoting his leisure time to historical studies. This passion led him to opt for a teaching career at the University of Liège, where he was rector from 1848 to 1853. He is buried in the Robermont Cemetery in Liège.
