Description: 8º (21,1x13,7cm): * 6 (*1 pi, *4 als *3, *6 als *5) A-K 8 L 4.Marbled leather binding, gold stamped spine,spine damaged/missing on the top. Signatures of two former owners on the first pages. 1 dated March '75. Interior in good condition. Engraved title page with grave-pillar by Reinier Vinkeles after Willem Bilderdijk, and preceding the funeral poems regarding De Lannoy, the image of another grave mark with her weapon on it, also by Vinkeles after Bilderdijk and dated 1784. Rare book by the famous female writer de Lannoy. The first half of the bundle includes never-before-printed poems by De Lannoy. The poetess had pointed out what had to be kept before her death; the rest was burned by her younger brother Adolf Hendrik after she passed. Shortly after, he also died himself. The publication of the poems was looked after by Willem Bilderdijk, who also - as the capable drawer he was - made the design for the two grave monuments. A publication of all of De Lannoy's poems, announced by him, was never realised, as well as a reprint of her theatrical work, which was also on the press according to him. L2253
