Description: Book on the life of Corneli(u)s Rudolphus Theodorus baron Krayenhoff (1758-1840), a Dutch physicist, doctor, general, engineer, cartographer and minister for war.Besides his many military successes, Krayenhoff was also an authority in the field of electricity and lightning protection. In 1782, the spire of the Martinikerk in Doesburg was the first in the Netherlands to receive a lightning conductor.
