Description: A story about the three-year-old Lina, a child of wealthy parents, who is kidnapped by a fairgoer after his own little daughter dies. Lina is trained as a rider-in-law on horseback in order to earn a lot of money. After the death of her boss, his wife repents and brings Lina back to her parents.The first copies of this book contained 6 colored lithographs by P.W.M. Trap from Leiden, and the protagonists even wore clothes made of actual fabrics (such as velvet, linen, and tule), which were partially affixed to the figures.Despite its exceptional form, these books were not successful, as from 1878 onward the book appeared in a down-sized format containing only 2 plates.school book – education – children's stories – leermiddel – school boek – children’s book - ontvoering[NL] Het verhaal gaat over het kind van rijke ouders, de driejarige Lina, die ontvoerd wordt door een kermisgast, nadat zijn eigen dochtertje overleden is. Lina krijgt een training als schoonrijdster op het paard om zo veel geld te verdienen. Na de dood van haar ‘baas’ krijgt diens vrouw berouw en brengt Lina terug bij haar ouders.   Paper binding, 16.3 x 12.1 cm. Signs of wear: somewhat frayed edges and other small damages, some stains.
