Description: Children's book on Dutch history of the sixteenth and seventeenth century. In his preface, Anslijns explicitly notes that the book is not to be mistaken for a school textbook. The stories are accompanied by several illustrations (by H.P. Oosterhuis) and should inspire children to read and learn more about their collective history.Contains numerous plates depicting historical events (such as 'De Noordsche Maatschappij der Walvischvangst', 'Oprigting der O.I.
