Description: Auction catalogue listing the collection of the Dutch politician and jurist Joan Melchior Kemper (26 April 1776 – 20 July 1824) was a Dutch jurist and politician. Kemper played a major part in the establishment of the United Kingdom of the Netherlands after the French had left the territory in 1813. He advised Gijsbert Karel van Hogendorp (together with Elias Canneman and Anton Reinhard Falck), drafted various proclamations including William I's proclamation of sovereignty, and even assisted in writing the constitution.
