Description: A disabled man on crutches with a turban is walking on the street. According to the inscription, the box hanging from his neck contains the tools for his profession, that of the shoeshiner. Inscription in Dutch at the bottom: ''k maak Schoenen schoon, of vraag om poen;... Om eerlijk aan de kost te raaken'. Signed under the picture: 'P. Barbiers inv. et del. / P. Langendijk sculp.' From a set of various similar compositions. Engraving on paper, printed in red ink, trimmed within plate mark, total: 123 x 82 mm; traces of previous mounting on verso, otherwise in very good condition.
