While a small dog plays on his right, the man is smoking a pipe Inscription in Dutch at the bottom: 'De Honde Mepper; suf van Geest... / Verleert hij Hond en Kat het krollen,'. Signed under the picture: 'P. B. in. / P. L. s[?].' From a set of various similar compositions. Engraving on paper, printed in red ink, trimmed within plate mark, total: 118 x 89 mm; in very good condition; on verso, traces of previous mounting.
