Description: View on the Huis Hoopenburg near Koudekerk, a municipality now included in Alphen aan den Rijn. This view was depicted by other artists in the course of the eighteenth century, like Abraham de Haen (II), Andries Schoemaker and Antonina Houbraken. This drawing is not dated nor signed, but it is titled at the bottom in pen and brown ink: 't Huis Hoopenburg, bij Koudekerk. Drawing washed in gray ink; some lines in brown ink. Pasted down on a sheet of thick paper. Drawing: 150 x 206 mm, total: 196 x 252 mm. Some light foxing possibly due to the fact that the drawing is pasted down. Otherwise in good condition.
