Description: From a set of prints presenting birds, here is a hen with his chicks in a landscape. Other birds on the tree and a swan on the water. Signed at bottom, to the left: 'F. Barlow inv., W. Hollar fecit'.On verso collectors'marks: Gustav Friedrich Konstantin Parthey (1798-1872) (L. 2014), the famous collector of Hollar.On verso also a skech of a profile in red ink.[NL] Uit een serie prenten met vogels, hier een kip met zijn kuikens in een landschap. Andere vogels op de boom en een zwaan op het water. Etching on laid paper, trimmed within plate mark; total: 128 x 186 mm; state I/2 (?); tiny tears repairs on the sides, a light brown stain on the wing of a bird on the tree; traces of previous mounting on verso.
