Description: Side view of the Old Church in Amsterdam, dedicated to S. Nicholas.This plate was included in several editions of Guicciardini's 'Beschryvinghe van alle de Neder-landen, anderssins ghenoemt Neder-Duytslandt (…).' published in Amsterdam by Willem Janszoon Blaeu, firstly in 1612. This same plate appeared in later editions too, by Blaeu himself (1613) and by Johannes Janssonius (1624, 1625, 1646 en 1648).Titled above on the ribbon in the middle of the sky: 'S. NICOLAES ofte OUWE KERK tot AMSTERDAM'. Etching on paper, two sheets joined in the middle; plate mark: 248 x 318 mm, total: 272 x 342 mm; only state; tiny spots on the margins and rubbings on the corners; despite the middle crease due to folding, in good condition.
