Description: Frontispiece to the popular book collecting plates and descriptions of the antiquities in Holland.The bottom lines of the plate have been modified as the name of the publisher changed. Goeree signed the plate on the decorative frame at the bottom: 'J. Goeree del et fec.'. Such plate was included in the various editions of the booklet.On the verso, in neat late 18th century handwriting, is reported the description of the iconography within the circular frame, representing a worm and a butterfly flying over it. Above, the motto: 'HET LAAGE VERHOOGT.' Date of print 1733, published in Amsterdam by Gerrit Bos. Etching and engraving on paper, trimmed close to plate on the left; total: 152 x 94 mm; despite age-toning paper on the outer margins, in good condition.
