Description: Allegorical frontispiece with the naked Truth with a palm with a hand laid on the opened book of history, riding a chariot led by two horses. Other allegorical figures related to time feature the scene, like two putti above, one holding a horoborus and another a winged clepsydra or the two women flanking Truth, one holding a sun clock and the other a more modern watch.Published in Amsterdam by Widow of Johan van Someren, Abraham Wolfgangh, Henrik and Dirk Boom.[NL] Naakte Waarheid staat met palm, pen en het boek van de Geschiedenis in haar hand op een zegewagen getrokken door paarden. Etching and engraving on paper with margins; plate mark: 292 x 187 mm; total: 368 x 229 mm; state II/2; light damp stain on top right corner and slightly cooked paper at the very external margins, top left external corner missing, though not affecting the plate. In good condition. On top right corner a human (?) hair embedded in the paper.
