Description: A draped young woman, standing, right hand pointing upwards, left hand pointing downwards, with baldric across her chest, and cloth wrapped around her head, under her chin; after an antique statue known as the Zingarella or the Zingara, formerly in the Borghese collection, now in the Musée du Louvre, Paris. Signed and numbered on the ground: FP B 67, FP monogrammed and the B stands for Bergognone. From 'Segmenta Nobiliarum Signorum et Statuarum', a series of 101 etched plates (frontispiece and 100 illustrations) representing statues from Rome, first published in Rome in 1638, and reprinted five times before the end of the seventeenth century. On verso, on the bottom right corner collector's mark: P in black (stencilled?). Date of publishing 1638. Etching on laid paper; plate mark: 215 x 111 mm, total: 293 x 180 mm; despite the traces of a damp stain affecting the bottom margin and the traces of folding on the bottom left corner, in good condition. On the verso, on the top margin handwritten note in pen and brown ink, in Dutch. Le Blanc 38-137.
