Description: Woman, standing full-length, facing front, head turned to the left, holding flowers in her right hand, and with her left hand lifting her dress; after an antique statue known as the Farnese Flora, formerly in the Farnese collection, now in the Museo Nazionale, Naples. Signed and numbered on the ground: FP B / 62, FP monogrammed and the B stands for Bergognone. Under the monogram the number identifying the sculpture has been modified at some point on the plate. From 'Segmenta Nobiliarum Signorum et Statuarum', a series of 101 etched plates (frontispiece and 100 illustrations) representing statues from Rome, first published in Rome in 1638, and reprinted five times before the end of the seventeenth century. On verso, on the bottom right corner collector's mark: P in black (stencilled?). Date of publishing 1638. Etching on laid paper; trimmed within plate mark, total: 216 x 126 mm, browns spots on the right, thin paper in the region of the head, yellowing paper. Le Blanc 38-137.
