Description: The so-called Belvedere Apollo, today still in Rome in the Belvedere garden at the Musei Vaticani, seen from the side and from the front on two different plates. Signed and numbered on the ground: FP B / 30, and FP B 31 FP monogrammed and the B stands for Bergognone. From 'Segmenta Nobiliarum Signorum et Statuarum', a series of 101 etched plates (frontispiece and 100 illustrations) representing statues from Rome, first published in Rome in 1638, and reprinted five times before the end of the seventeenth century. On verso, on the bottom right corner collector's mark: P in black (stencilled?). Date of publishing 1638. Etching on laid paper; plate mark (1): 238 x 146 mm, total: 293 x 178 mm; plate mark (2): 238 x 154 mm, total: 294 x 181 mm; on the first plate a damp stain at the bottom, two pink stains above and some dirt. Though interesting impression. On the second plate some light smudges on the most external margins otherwise in great condition. Le Blanc 38-137.
