Description: An old woman combing the hair of a girl.Many elements suggest that the print was executed in Italy: the mountainous landscape on the background with ruined constructions visible on the left, the attire of the old woman, looking like an Italian peasant and the very signature of the artist, who wrote G as his name initial, thus Giovanni, Italianization of Jan.Very charming composition. Signed above, on the right: G. Miele fecit. ca. 1650-1660.[NL] Een oude vrouw met een lorgnet op haar neus luist een kind, dat met zijn hoofd op haar schoot ligt. Naast haar een kat en een omgekeerde mand, waaronder een vogel zit. Links een afgezadelde ezel. Etching on paper, trimmed close to plate; total: 145 x 216 mm; only state; some dirt and smudges, especially along the margins. Nicely toned impression.
