Description: Four plates extracted from the 1740 edition of the 'Novelle' (stories) by Giovanni Boccaccio in its Dutch translation. The four are mounted on a cardboard. Two are backed for conservation purposes. In clockwise order, they illustrate Efigenia and Chimon p. 435, Ricciardo Minutolo and the wife of Filippetto Sighinolfi p. 286, Ricciardo Manardi found in bed with Caterina, the daughter of Messer Litio from Valbona p. 470 and Salvestra and Girolamo's body p. 407. 1740. From the collection of Dr. J.G. de Lint and from the Instituut voor geschidenis der Genees-, Natuur- en Wiskundse L.B.. Engravings on paper and letterpress; total: ca.72 x 77 mm; the third and fourth plate backed; besides some yellowing and smudges, in fair condition.
