Description: Bust portrait of theologian Lucas Trelcatius (1573-1607), turned towards the right, looking at the observer. In oval frame, lettered at the top: LILIUM INTER SPINAS, within further rectangular frames. Inscribed under the portrait: LUCAS TRELCATIUS PATER, S.S.Theologiae Professor. With address of van der AA: Lugd. Bat. ex Officina Petri Vander Aa. Included in Van der Aa's Fundatoris, Curatorum et Professorum celeberrimorum aliorumque illustrium virorum... published in Leiden between 1715 and 1716. . Engraving with some etching on paper from three plates; trimmed to plate edge, total: 349 x 253 mm: mounted on a larger sheet; despite some light brown stains in very good condition.
