Title: Drawing/Tekening in chalk: Man standing beside a chair (man naast stoel), published 1777.
Description: A man with three-pointed hat standing beside a chair. The man looks rather short, as he is shown resting his right elbow on the back of the chair. Consequently, the proportions look slightly uneven. Mounted on a cardboard mat on which was drawn a light frame. Under the drawing the monogram and the date: JAVL 1777; furthermore, a small number, 13, is drawn in pencil also below the portrait. As 65265 in our collection, possibly these two drawings came from a set. Drawing on paper, black chalk; total: 288 x 229 mm (mat); drawing in great condition, the mat slightly stained and damaged.
