Description: George Hendrik Breitner (1857-1923) was a famous painter, mainly known by his paintings of city views with people and construction sites, girls in kimono and hussars on horses. Less known are the cats that he painted, photographed and draw. He was a famous cat lover and there were always cats in his house and atelier. The illustrations in this book of the cats are his best. His love for cats are placed in a historic perspective. Also other illustrations of cats of artist from the 80's (Tachtigers) are recorded in the book.
