Description: View on the so-called Campo Vaccino in Rome. In the foreground the ruins, and in the background a mild hilly landscape. Very charming composition.Landscape format, in brownish tones with highlights. Details such as the columns on the left and the ruins on the bottom right suggest an experienced hand. Fresh and didascalic touches. Not signed. Half seventeenth century.[NL] Gezicht op het zogenaamde Campo Vaccino in Rome. Op de voorgrond de ruïnes en op de achtergrond een zacht heuvellandschap. Zeer charmante compositie. Oil sketch on prepared canvas. Total:143 x 282 mm. The drawing was folded in three parts and the central crease is more dramatic than the other two. Corners damaged, the bottom right missing. Nevertheless, this drawing is extremely charming.
