Description: Landscape with a castle on a mountain on the sea with farmers with barrels on the left; a view on Palermo in Sicily on the left; allegory of the the month of October. At the top center the zodiac sign belonging to this month: Scorpion. Tenth plate from a series of twelve.Four lines of text in Latin: 'Nudato madidys, corpore vinitor / Uvas calce premit, fundit et in cavum // Alter vina fece fervida dolum / Et faces liquida spumaque subsidet'.Holding the sheet against a source of light one can see tiny holes all around the shapes of the landscape especiall. Probably this etching was used either as a optical print ante litteram or the holes served as a means to copy the composition itself.Numbered '10' on the bottom right. Etching on paper, trimmed to plate; total: 275 x 365 mm; some repairings on the verso, yet very beautiful impression; Hollstein 43, Franken 159.
