Description: Georg Balthasar Probst, Augsbourg. ca. 1750-1800. 31,3 x 43,2 cm (plate: 31,3 x 43,2 cm). Etching/engraving/watercolour. (237) quaeductus Harlemensis, quo navigia meant Amstelodamum. Canale a Arlem, dove montano e calano i vascelli per Amsterdam. Beatiful hand coloured optical print in very good state. Some age related discolouration and two small holes in the top corners (probably from pushpins). The print shows the road and canal leading towards the Dutch city of Haarlem. In the distance the St. Bavo church and other monuments can be seen behind the city walls. The road leading towards the city gates enhances the perspective effect of the print.
