Description: Copperplate engraving of the 'Lazarus Huys', in the Dutch city of Amsterdam. This was the place where leprosy patients were taken care of. Above the cityscape a banner is depicted, containing the title of the print. ca. 1726. Overall size: 116 x 150 mm. Very good state. Close cut margin. Some age related discolouration and slight browning in the bottom right corner. Handlaid paper with watermark. Printed text on the verso of the print. This print was part of the book 'Caspar Commelin, Beschryvinge van Amsterdam, zynde een naukeurige verhandelinge (...), 2nd edition, Amsterdam, Pieter Vlaming, 1726. (edition with improved plates)
