Description: Engraving nr. 24 from a set published in reverse by Van Aels after Tempesta. In this picture the Israelites are building the walls of the city of Jerusalem. Inscribed at the bottom in the center:'POPVLVS VRBEM INSTAV/RAT.' Numbered on the bottom right '24'; four Latin lines on the bottom:'Instaurare nouo pars diruta moenia Saxo / Apparat, et trepida pars tenet arma manu // Finitimo uerrit hoste metus, sic tempore eodem / Alter ab alterius munere sumit opem'. Engraving on paper, trimmed to platemark; total: 209 x 288 mm; evenly yellowed, reinforced on the back; fragile margins, tear on the bottom. Bartsch XVII 259 (2), Le Blanc 29 (2).
