Bust portrait, face towards the right, floreal ornaments on the external border inhabited with insects and birds. Used in J.J.Boissard 'Bibliotheca chalcographica, hoc est Virtute et eruditione clarorum Virorum Imagines' (Heidelberg, Clemens Ammon, 1669) Inscribed on the oval frame: 'IOANNES HVGONIS.A.LINSCHOTEN HAERLEMENSIS AETA 35 A° 1598. SOVFRI POVR PARVENIR.', inscribed below in cartouche: 'Eoum nobis heic dat Lynscotius Orbem, / Lynscotum, artifici sculpta tabella manu'. On the bottom right the signature of the publisher 'YY3'. Engraving on paper, no margins; total: 140 x 104 mm. Damaged on the top and lower right corners. State I/2
