Daniel Wyttenbach (Bern 1746-Oegstgeest 1820) was a Dutch philologist and philosopher, teaching as a professor at the universities of Amsterdam and Leiden (NNBW I, col. 1591). This beautifully bound, large paper copy of the first edition of his Praecepta philosophiae logicae was probably meant as a presentation copy. Bindings like these on academical writings (i.a. orations, dissertations etc.) were presented by the author to family, friends or colleagues at the university. Usually these books were printed and bound in the place of the university (in casu Amsterdam). B0069. Philosophy; Binding. Rare.
