V. good copy. ¶ although, according to the author himself, this theory of human evolution is strictly Darwinian, it is new in the way it is extended into social and political phenomena. This volume not only presents a 'group' theory of human evolution, but introduces "the demarcation of mankind into its [five] major divisions or varieties, the role played by 'race' in evolution and the rise of nations." (p.vii). A rather dated text, but interesting to political scientists, in particular International Relations specialists.
