Ca. 54,5 x 44 cm.Poster with text in honor of Voltaire two years after his dead. The title-text was written by Voisenon, who was a correspondent from Voltaire. The poster alternates reminders of some of the benefits of Voltaire and to his praise.“La copie ancienne d’un poème de l’abbé de Voisenon, Jean qui pleure et qui rit": "The old copy of a poem by Father de Voisenon, Jean who cries and who laughs (Ferney 1772) and verses from Trimolet, from Collioure (1821), in the form of a letter from Voltaire to Lally-Tolendal”. The poster is folded in two directions and with some damage in the middle, caused by the fold; otherwise a good copy of a very rare tribute to Voltaire; one copy in the Voltaire Museum in Geneva.
