Volume one includes large index and list with publications. Corners bumped; spine and hinges somewhat damaged; content good. First volume originally published by Guillelmum Cavelier filium, but this publisher on the first titlepage pasted over the name of the new publisher Theoph. Barrois. The first work was first published in 1703; Emmenologia gave a solid proof of professional and classical attainments. This work is based on the mechanical doctrines then so much in vogue, and though at first it met with some opposition and was then, and afterwards animadverted upon by various writers, it has always been regarded as a masterly essay.
