With engraved titlepage and frontispiece. Last pages somewhat short cut; tipped-in bookmark; signed and dated (24-10-1816) text of a former owner on the thirth blank page; very light traces of use; good copy. Not in Brunet, nor in Bibliotheca Belgica. Thomas a Kempis (1379-1471) was a religious author. Member of the Brethren of the Common Life at Deventer. He joined the Windesheim Congregation (Augustinian Canons Regular) at Agnietenberg monastery, where he remained almost continually for over 70 years.
