Both are profusely illustrated throughout. The New Naturalist Library is a series of books, written by experts, concerning a variety of natural history topics, aiming to interest general readers in the wildlife of the British Isles. They have had considerable influence on many, such as W.D. Hamilton and Mike Majerus, who later became professional biologists.
