Age-related edgewear, some faint marks and patches of discolouration to the hardcovers; minor bumps to the edges, spine ends and leading corners. Volume six has a frayed and torn spine foot, faint creases on the opening couple of pages and a few bumped page edges. Minor tears on the inner front hinge on volume one. Faint sporadic marks and foxing on the pages throughout. The binding remains sound, all text and illustrations (black and white) are clear. (publication date not stated but believed to be 1896) CM.
