A beautiful hand inked and painted gift dedication to the Church of St John the Evangelist, Preston, Brighton, dated May 1947 is written on front free paper. Leather boards, with fully gilded pageblock and spine detail are in fine condition for their age, with wear and light leather loss noted to board edges, spine hinge and (bumped) corners. Within, tanning and foxing present, notable at the beginning of the textblock, then occasionally throughout. Pages are tightly bound and, tanning not withstanding, content is generally clean, the text a mix of red and black ink. CN. Very Good/No Dust Jacket.
