This first print comprises 322 pages of the novel, and several pages of advertisements to the rear. 'Review copy with John Lane's Compliments' embossed stamp noted on the title page. Surface wear and sunning to the boards. Corners and spine ends are bumped and rubbed. Spine is slightly cocked, and page block is tanned and blemished. Foxing noted on the first and last few pages, which are otherwise clear. Semi hinge breaks at both boards and endpapers removed, however binding remains sound. LW. Good/No Dust Jacket.
