Half-bound hardcovers in very good condition for their age. Previous owner's bookplate adhered to front pastedown in both volumes. Marbled boards, pastedowns and pageblock complement brown leather spine and corners. Title and volume spine detail contrasts in colour, letters are gilded. Frontispiece to Vol.I. is the image of Joanna the First, Vol.II. is the Tomb of Joanna. General shelf and handling wear includes wear to all edges, bumped corners, and rubbing to boards, resulting in some colour loss to the marbled effect. Tanning and foxing is present throughout both volumes, notable on occasion. Within, pages are tightly bound, and content, despite foxing, remains legible and distinct. CN. Very Good/No Dust Jacket.
