Spine with 5 raised bands, gilt lettering and decorations and title pieces. The boardcovers reflect flaws commensurate with the shelf life and handling of volumes of this age; bumped corners, worn leather, and some small tears and creasing. Vol.III front board is almost detached from the spine, but still present. Each volume features 2 bookplates; the first, a small circular plate, depicts a kneeling camel beneath a Latin inscription; the second depicts an arm sheathed in armour, holding three ears of corn, beneath a Latin inscription. This bookplate owner is identified as Henry M Ryland. Very Good.
