Bound in 3/4 leather with gilt lettering and gilt decoration to spine. Illustrated with steel engravings from photographs and paintings. Each volume with bookplate belonging to Leonard William Harrington Hutchings on front pastedown and his shop receipt dated 1961 from Wellington, NZ, laid-in. Light wear to board extremities and corners rubbed. Slight hinge breaks at both FEPs. Internally, some minor foxing and creases to upper page corners, especially in vol.1. A very heavy set, quite handsome and in very good condition for age. AD. Very Good.
