First title page reads "British Water - Colour Art 1804 - 1904". Main title page reads "British Water - Colour Art in the First Year of the Reign of King Edward the Seventh, and during the century covered by the life of the Royal Society of Painters in Water Colours. Illustrated by the collection of drawings dedicated by that society to their majesties the king and queen at their coronation" General shelf wear to spine, corners and edges. Outer corners are worn and rolled inwards. Front cover shows sunning at top. Rear cover shows various stains and smudges, creased bottom left corner, and vertical bands of sunning. Spine shows sunning, heavy wear at top (top edge is torn and frayed), and a weakened hinge with the rear cover. Surface layer of hinge has 4 cm long tear, tear has been repaired in the past with brown tape. Edge page block shows uneven binding, a circular scuff mark near top, and moderate brown spotting. Lower page block shows spotting. Heavy browning inside both covers, spotting in the main body of the book is light to moderate, illustration plates are not affected, though protective pages are. Presentation plate inside front cover. Inside rear cover has smudges and stains.Text is clean, bright and tight throughout. Good/No Dust Jacket.
