Description: London, John Murray Publishers Ltd. 1836, First Thus. leather. VG Hardback. Bound in three quarter (tan) leather with gilt bands and titling on spine. The binding is contemporary, by Wardley and Arnold of Guernsey. It is robust, with some shelf wear to the corners, a little bit of rubbing on the edges of the spine. There's also some sunning and staining, probably in part from candle wax. The page edges are speckled red. Inside there is a previous owner's name and that of a Cambridge College. It has the feel of 19th century college rooms. The book remains very tight and clean with a few discreet pencil markings, easily removed. l (50) + 288p. Very Good.
