Unfolded and very fine. “Silent Procession in commemoration of the great fighter for peace in the world. Amsterdam, Commemoration Committee for Dr. Martin Luther King.” The Silent March led from the statue of Domela Nieuwenhuis on the Amsterdam Nassauplein to the National Monument on Dam Square, after which a memorial meeting was held in Hotel Krasnapolsky with speakers Eugene Waaldijk, Jacques Tolud, Rev. Van Asperen, Nelson Richards, Martin Sterman and Truus Simons (singer). According to the newspapers, approximately 1,000 people took part in this Silent Protest.
