Description: Original illuminated manuscript. 27 x 21 cm. Gilt cloth. 12 leaves of sturdy paper with thinner protective sheets, decorated in colours with flowers and butterflies. The colour drawings measure approximately 13 x 9 cm. Spine and endpapers renewed. Binding dull and with some spots and other signs of use. In good condition inside. These are thy glorious works, Parent of good, Almighty, thine this universal frame, Thus wondrous fair; thyself how wondrous then Unspeakable, who sitt'st above these Heavens To us invisible or dimly seen In these thy lowest works (...). An unknown person provided the well-known Morning Hymn of Adam and Eve with twelve beautifully colored flower drawings. The band and therefore also the illumination dates from around 1850, unfortunately there is nothing more to say about it. Feel free to ask for more images.
