Descriptions of 7 Roman medals and tessera in French. With a leaf illustrating all of these. 1st edition. Cover loose and a bit discolored. Worn at the edges, but a delicate publication in good condition. Inscribed by the author on the inside upper cover: 'A Monsieur Eug. Merzbacher à Munich/ Souvenir affectueux/ De Schodt A'. Eugen Merzbacher (1845-1903) was an important German numismatist and coin seller. Alphonse Fidèle Benoît Constantin de Schodt (1827-1892) was (besides a great in-depth collector) for a long time an important man in the Société Royale de Numismatique de Belgique.
