With handwritten dedication on p. 3 to Oscar Timmers, who translated some of Kosinski's books into Dutch, dated 'New York, November 69'. On p. 11 someone wrote in pencil 'give a man a mask/ and he speaks the truth./ yeats', but it is not entirely clear who wrote it. Although the booklet is dated 1968 'Fall 1968', it also mentions the title 'Steps' with the year 1969. Later editions were stamped with later published titles.
